April 2007 – Sensors and Sensing (8 articles)
Whether guiding the motion of a robotic arm or making sure your toast is just the right shade of brown, sensors monitor the world around us and provide feedback in control loops. This month we explore the world of Sensors and Sensing, with articles of interest to those designing industrial or consumer products that incorporate touch or proximity panel controls, react to ambient light, utilize MEMs sensors to react to motion or acceleration, Hall Effect sensors to detect position or fluid levels, pressure sensors for altimeter or barometric measurements and optoelectronics to detect the presence or absence of objects.

March 2007 – Analog Signal Chain (6 articles)
Virtually every product that interacts with the outside world relies on analog signal chains to amplify and condition sensor and signal inputs for further processing, often in the digital domain. So this month we turn our attention to Signal Chains, with articles of interest to those designing products that interface with remote temperature and capacitance sensors, require tuning of op-amp circuits under software control, squeeze the most performance out of an instrumentation amplifier design or simply operate dual supply op-amps from single power supplies.

February 2007 – Power Management Applications (10 articles)
Governmental and regulatory agency requirements, market demands for extended battery life and lowered power consumption, and the increasingly complex power supply strategies needed to power multiple ICs and I/O components, are all driving suppliers to provide you with better solutions to control, convert and regulate power. So this month, we turn our attention to Power Management, with articles of interest on everything from low dropout power supplies for DSPs and noise sensitive signal chain components to high voltage 3-phase motor drives and new energy regulations.

January 2007 – LED Lighting (6 articles)
This month, we’ll focus on LED lighting… with articles of interest to those using LEDs for backlighting in portable devices, front panel and status indicators, high-brightness signage and general illumination.
