REACH

A huge piece of legislation covering some 849 pages. It requires manufacturers and importers of chemicals and preparations (paint, varnish, cleaning agents etc) to register them where one tonne or more is used per year, along with the information required to use and handle them safety. Prior to REACH, only 3% of the 30,000 most popular chemicals had been fully tested.
