Energy Harvesting Modules from ALD

Wireless communication technologies like Zigbee have led to the development of a new generation of remote sensors. These sensors are expected to be active and in working order for years at a time.

Advanced Linear Devices has a range of Energy Harvesting modules intended to power remote devices, either by extending the batteries lifetime or replacing them altogether, providing an energy efficient power solution.

EH300/EH301 Series

The Energy Harvesting Modules are specifically designed for low power intermittent duty and long storage time applications. The Advanced Linear Devices EH300/EH301 Series EPAD Energy Harvesting Modules provide an alternative or complimentary solution to batteries by capturing and storing energy from the environment to ensure that the remote device is always ready for operation.

Onboard functions include energy capture and accumulation, energy storage, power conditioning and energy management from various energy sources, such as solar cells, PZT piezoelectric ceramic composite elements, inductive elements and micro thermal-electric generators. EH300 Modules can easily adapt to a wide range of voltage and power inputs and outputs. Energy can be collected from many types of secondary or waste by-product environmental sources and stored to power conventional 3.3V and 5.0V electrical circuits and systems.

EH300/EH301 Modules are completely self-powered and always in active mode. The modules condition the stored energy to provide power at output voltage and current levels that are within the limits of the given electronic system power supply specification. Find out more
